Goal

Helmets and Body Armour Fundraiser

-Ukraine Aid Ops HQ

URGENT! – Still one of the most critical items needed by the brave defenders of Ukraine is protective gear. Every soldier who joins the armed forces to protect his or hers country needs a protective vest and helmet.

Our goal is to maintain a steady supply of ballistic helmets, sets of body armor, plate carriers (which holds the armor), as well as essential accessories for combat units such as magazine and tourniquet pouches that attach to the vest and carry ammo or medical gear. However, to maintain a supply of gear to our ground team requires your help!

To maintain a regular supply of gear to meet the requests we receive from the many units we are helping, our goal is to raise $240,000 by the end of March to ensure we can supply 1500 helmets and 900 plate carriers. Momentarily, we have enough plates to complete sets of body armour.

Ukraine Aid Operations has already provided about 3,500 sets of body armor plates and over 875 helmets. We continue to receive urgent calls from many units for more protective gear partly because new soldiers are trained and join the battle for their homeland, partly because these items are consumables that need to be replaced when damaged.

A Spare Helmet Saved a Life in Zaporizhzhia

While distributing supplies in Zaporizhzhia, we were asked if we had a helmet for a soldier who did not have one. We had one helmet left and gladly gave it to him. A few months later, we got a text with a photo. The helmet had stopped a projectile and saved the soldier’s life!

Steel Plate Stops a Bullet in Kharkiv

One of the steel plates we was given in April 2022 to a soldier serving in Kharkiv. Less than a month later, he sent this photo where you can clearly see the impact of a bullet that would have likely have killed him if it wasn’t for the plate he had received!

A Life Saved Twice in Bakhmut

We got a message from a solider serving in Bakhmut with this (unfortunately poor quality) photo of the helmet with have him with a large gash in the outside of it. Not on did the helmet save his life, but our team had also given him a S.O.S. emergency ration bar and took him to keep it in his vest. These bars are not popular because, to be honest, they taste terrible; but they are lightweight and packed full of calories. This soldier explained how thankful he was for the bar when himself and four comrades were trapped behind enemy lines for four days with nothing to eat but this bar, which gave them enough energy to keep going until they were able to make it back safely to their unit.

The truth is, without your continued support, we would not be able to purchase these critical items to supply to the frontline troops.

Your help has enabled us to do so much but our resolve must not weaken until this war is won. Together we are truly making a difference.  Let's keep it going, please donate if you can and share this widely among your friends, family, and broader network so we can help even more.

If you are able to commit to making a recurring contribution to Ukraine, it is greatly appreciated as it helps us maintain a regular supply of gear. Any amount is helpful, no matter how small.

Slava Ukraini, together we win!

It's so easy to feel helpless in the face of such destruction. You let us fight back, to help our Ukranian friends. It's a privilege we only enjoy because of your heroic work

Have family fighting there and they often say they wouldn't be able to do what they do without volunteers. Thank you. And if you ever come across 63rd brigade, please say hi ❤️
