UAID organisation around the world continue feeding the hungry, giving shelter to the homeless, helping migrants and asylum seekers, and caring for the sick.
Please donate to our COVID-19 emergency response fund. Your generosity makes our work possible.
It is the mission of the Utah Association for Intellectual Disabilities (UAID) to support individuals and their families by providing opportunities that enhance the life quality of people with disabilities.
UAID provides safe, enriching opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, their families and friends – opportunities that can build valuable relationships, help individuals to acquire new skills and just have fun!
UAID is a volunteer organization committed to support individuals with no fees.
UAID is not a service provider in the typical sense. Rather, we seek opportunities to add value to peoples’ lives beyond the services of other agencies and service providers and to collaborate with individuals and organizations who share our commitment to enhance the life quality of people with intellectual disabilities.
The Arc of Utah existed for 50 years. Each year they delivered holiday gifts to people with intellectual disabilities. In 2008, financial problems arose that caused the closure of The Arc of Utah and thereby threatened the Holiday Gift Box and other programs.
As the board of directors of Arc dealt with the overall issues, a small group of volunteers saw the need to keep some of the programs administered by The Arc alive, so they banded together and formed a new non-profit called Utah Association for Intellectual Disabilities (UAID), acquired their 501-c-3 and charged forward with all volunteers. UAID added a slate of activities designed to enhance abilities of the clients and provide them social activities that included skill building opportunities for all. The Arc Board of Directors gifted some of their programs to UAID. These included: the Holiday Gift Box program, Bridge to the Future, Connections to Computers and socialization projects..
All donations of clothing and household items made to UAID are tax-deductible to the extent of the law. UAID is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
