Goal
Our daughter Grace was diagnosed at the age of six while hospitalized with a kidney infection. Though Grace presented with many of the markers for TS, her diagnosis was prompted by a medical student's suggestion, not by any of the doctors that had treated her up until that point. This diagnosis changed the course of her life and shook the foundation of our family. Because Turner Syndrome varies from girl to girl, finding adequate care and knowledable doctors is challenging. Our family has rallied around her, cheering on her acomplishments and grieving her loses. Today Grace is a hardworking high school student. Her bubbly personality and caring attitude mask her daily struggles. She has faced endless medical appointments and procedures to monitor/correct heart defects, kidney abnormalities, early ovarian failure, speech issues, an inability to grow as well as extreme anxiety and learning struggles. Through it all she never stops trying. After struggling on our own for over a year, we finally connected with TS Colorado. Through them we have been able to connect with other families who understand our journey. On September 25th, our community will finally gather at Hudson Gardens to celebrate the girls and women in our lives who have Turner syndrome. We are raising funds for the TS clinic that allows our girls to receive specialized medical care with as little disruption as possible to their daily lives. TS Colorado is also taking part in the ever- changing research that will hopefully improve the lives of those that will face the same diagnosis. We will be so happy to see you all there! If you can please make a donation to support the important programs of Turner Syndrome Colorado, including the eXtraOrdinary Kids Turner Syndrome Clinic.
