Te Toi Mahana kaimahi are running - for Kaibosh!

Te Toi Mahana is Wellington's largest provider of affordable housing, serving almost 3000 tenants in Pōneke. Several kaimahi from the organisation have bravely put their hands up to get real muddy and run through water trails, barb wire obstacles, swamp crossings, bush trails and everything the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge at Camp Wainui will throw at them on 9 May. (The rest of us who aren't running will politely and pristinely cheer for them from a safe distance!).

This year, Te Toi Mahana are raising money for one of our key community partners, Kaibosh.

Kaibosh rescues and redistributes good quality surplus food from 90 food businesses in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Te Awa Kairangi, Kāpiti and Horowhenua – connecting kai with over 160 community partners. Each week, the Kaibosh team work closely with our teams at Te Toi Mahana, distributing this kai in our social housing complexes.

Money raised will go directly to Kaibosh's annual appeal - Moving Meals in May. They're raising money for a new low-emissions truck which will pick up fresh produce from growers in Kāpiti & Horowhenua, to share with community organisations

"We love working with Kaibosh, and they're a familiar and friendly face in our tenant community. The work they do is extremely important and valued in social housing spaces like ours. We're excited to run and get muddy for a good cause!"
Kerry McCracken, Te Toi Mahana
