Local news, powered by neighbors like you.
At The Sentinel, we believe a strong community depends on access to trustworthy local reporting – and that takes all of us! When you give to our Truth Takes a Village campaign, you’re helping keep independent journalism alive in Murray/Calloway County: stories that hold power accountable, celebrate local life and make sure our neighbors stay informed. Your support keeps the story going.
There are two options:
1. Triple your impact by making a one-time donation! Thanks to NewsMatch, all made through the end of the year will be matched dollar-for-dollar – up to $1,000 per donor! But that’s not all! And thanks to the generosity of our local match partners – Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home and CFSB – we have an additional $2,000 in matching funds available. That means your donation will go THREE TIMES further for independent, community-driven journalism in Murray and Calloway County.
2. Have a lasting impact by becoming recurring donor. This year, our goal is to get 50 new monthly donors! Why are recurring donations so important? In 2025, The Sentinel received $400/month from recurring donors. That money has been key to growing our website throughout the year – we have upgraded our server, increasing the speed dramatically; hired IT support; and continued to upgrade plugins. Not only will NewsMatch match monthly donations, they are matched at their 12-month value, which means your $10 donation today not only helps sustain us throughout the year, but it adds $120 to our pot from NewsMatch!
