For ARMY's birthday, OIAA chose to support a cause helping the environment. So, this year, One In An ARMY is launching a 7-day flash fundraiser for Trash Hero, a global non-profit organization working on helping create a more sustainable future.

Trash Hero

The Trash Hero mission is to bring communities together to clean and reduce waste. They do this through:

• Action and Awareness. Volunteers pick up trash and motivate others to do the same. By spending a few hours together cleaning up, people gain a profound understanding of the need to reduce and better manage waste.

• Education. Engaging children through a multilingual kids’ programme, connecting environmental values with hands-on experience of the impact that plastic trash has on the ocean. Adults learn through doing, with actvities and workshops provided by our volunteers.

• Sustainable Projects. Create long-term programmes that help communities to reduce and better manage existing waste, and strategies that will prevent future waste.

• Inspiration. Motivate people to break free from plastic and become Trash Heroes in their everyday lives. With consistently positive messaging, and a philosophy of “small steps”, we remove the barriers to change and normalise a vision of a zero-waste world.

All activities are committed to and aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

OIAA is a fan collective promoting microdonations through its monthly campaigns and flash fundraisers. We believe that many people coming together to donate even $1 can make a huge impact. We work with orgs from different parts of the world to share their work with ARMY, who in turn support organizations to make a positive change in people's lives.
