Trailblazers for Saint Therese's Camp
Trailblazers are camp champions who set up an automatic monthly donation to the camp. Trailblazer donations support long-term capital projects for St. Therese's. Those projects make sure St. Therese's ministries run long and strong into the future. Our Trailblazers enabled us to pay off the camp (Oct 2021), buy RV's to provide summer housing for priests and sisters serving at the camp (2022), purchase a 20x24 building (2023) and are helping pay for the remodel of that building into staff housing. Join the team and join the fun!
Trailblazers receive twice-monthly insights into activities and upcoming events at camp.
Here's why one family became Trailblazers:
We are so excited to partner with St. Therese's Camp to help pay off the mortgage as Trailblazers.
We started sending our children to camp in 2014 and it has blessed them in countless ways. The first time we picked them up, our oldest son was gushing about the late-night talks around the camp fire and about how his counselors could talk "some FIERCE theology!" That was when we realized the great value in sending our kids to an authentically Catholic camp.
If our kids come home more on fire for their faith every summer, that's huge in our book. St. Therese's does a wonderful job of finding staff who are unabashedly enthusiastic about sharing their love of God with the kids and it's so refreshing in our time for our children to see that there are young adults--college age kids--who hold firmly to their faith (and do so in a cultural environment that isn't always supportive of that faith.)
In 2017, when camp brought religious sisters and priests to hang out each week with the campers, our kids were exposed in a different way to people who follow religious vocations. They discovered that they're actually just "normal" people who like to have fun and whose love of God overflows their lives. Camp espouses "Fun. Faith. Friends" in its motto and it truly does deliver in all of these. Our kids experience their coexistence in wonderful ways and come to understand that they don't have to keep faith separate from fun or friends. They talk about camp all through the year and frequently look back at videos and photos from the facebook page.
They love doing all the camp things, the boating and archery, the gaga and messy wars, and I love that they actually enjoy attending Mass. Yay, camp! When we had the opportunity to help pay off the debt with a small monthly contribution, we were more than happy to do so. We have 3 more kids waiting to follow their older 3 brothers to camp in the coming years and we want to help ensure St. Therese's is there for them to enjoy and be blessed by as well!
May God continue to bless children through the fun and faith shared at St. Therese's.
