More villages are contacting Trailblazer Foundation requesting latrines. 84% of families in rural Cambodia lack proper sanitation. In the next six months, Trailblazer is committed to building 40 new latrines for families.
Mrs. Kot, a latrine beneficiary, stated that before Trailblazer Foundation installed her latrine “my family was forced to dig holes in the fields to defecate, but during the rainy season it was very difficult”. Then after receiving the latrine and proper hygiene training she shared, “the health condition of our family drastically improved and we are able to save money. ”
With her savings Mrs. Kot was able to receive a loan from the bank to improve the housing conditions of her family and buy a motorcycle. Her family has also started raising farming animals, including 3 cows, 2 pigs and 5 chicken.
You too can help families like Mrs. Kot’s by donating now. With your help, we provide guided setup and training regarding the proper use and care of their new latrines. All materials are purchased locally, thereby further supporting the local economy. Every little bit helps. Give a one-time gift or give monthly.
