THE TOUCAN

STORYTELLING

SCHOLARSHIP

The Toucan Storytelling Scholarship was created in honor of storyteller and videographer Andrew Gardner, founder of Toucan Films, a production company in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Toucan Storytelling Scholarships are awarded based on values of community leadership, creative vision, and bridging diversity. The funds awarded to each recipient covers community media workshops and materials that will immediately accelerate the work the artists are developing. In Spring 2020, Artisan Global hosted the first Toucan Storytelling Workshops in Gulu, Northern Uganda led by videographer Acire George (Friendship Photography) and in Charleston, South Carolina led by Raven Greene (New Moon Visuals). From 2020 to present day, the Toucan Storytelling Scholarships and investment into the Artisan Media programs at The Artisan Center have been transformational to the community of Gulu.

All donations towards The Toucan Storytelling Scholarship go directly towards supporting artists in pursuing their passion of film and photography. Drew lived his life celebrating and uniting cultures through creativity. This scholarship allows incredible artists to collaborate with one another cross-globally and advance as leaders in their creative careers.
