Goal
Help support Tools & Tiaras Boston LLC, the very first regional Chapter of the acclaimed NYC-based nonprofit, Tools & Tiaras Inc. We plan to make this a wild success, and are asking for your support in helping further the organization’s mission to show our girls that “Jobs Don’t Have Genders™”.
Tools & Tiaras Inc. was founded in 2017 by history-making plumber, tradeswoman activist, and one of CNN’s Champions for Change, Judaline Cassidy. I have taken up the charge of extending T&T’s impact to the Boston area, where we will serve girls and young women (ages 6-17), through hands-on summer programming for girls, and monthly workshops for girls and women.
T&T's fun-meets-education programming is centered on the skilled construction trades with the goal of advancing girls’ interest in pursuing non-traditional careers in S.T.E.A.M. professions, which include all aspects of the construction industry. To do that, we’re going to put tools directly into girls’ hands, helping them realize just how capable they are.
Our next workshop for girls age 6-13 will be hosted Saturday November 5th at Folan Waterproofing & Construction in South Easton.
The day will include:
- T&TB’s Bricklaying Workshop
- Lunch
- “Meet & Greet” with two local policewomen – one is the head of the police department!
To ensure that this first program - and all going forward - are accessible to all girls, they will be free of charge. In order for us to do that, we need funding to cover all programming costs - i.e. materials, safety gear for the girls, lunch, stipend for all instructors. We will need many more dollars to make T&T Boston a powerful machine that keeps doing more for even more girls.
Every dollar matters. Every connection matters. Every form of support matters.
