As we are finally able to gather in person with family and friends this holiday season, we celebrate the ability to be Together Again.
However, now and during the holidays many people remain imprisoned at the Eloy Detention Center and La Palma Correctional Center.
As many of us are able to return to our normal routines for the holiday season, visitors are still not allowed to enter the detention center, vaccine access is scarce, and social distancing remains difficult. This past year and a half has felt lonelier than ever for our friends. They are cut off from their friends and family and remain stuck in harsh, unsafe conditions.
However, even though our program volunteers are still not allowed to visit, CMDVP has maintained connection to our friends in Eloy and La Palma. Our volunteers have continued to foster friendships with those on the inside and these friendships have become a lifeline for many.
We understand the holiday season proves to be difficult when spent alone, and we believe it will be even worse than usual with no visits allowed. However, money for phone calls or items from commissary can offer a sense of relief during this difficult time. Can you help us with our goal?
No gift is too small. Every gift will go directly to someone imprisoned right now.
Whether we are together in person, or together through letters and phone calls, we invite you to give a Gift of Togetherness this holiday season, so that we can all feel Together Again soon.
