Support Tictac Art Centre
Our project
Tictac Art Centre was initiated by David Zambrano and Mat Voorter, in order to promote Contemporary Dance, improvisation, and Visual Arts at a local and international level through workshops, performances, and other special events. They give particular importance to the transmission, creation, and multicultural exchange.
Call for donations
Tictac is an independent initiative by, with and for artists. We are a non-profit organization operating without structural funding: all the income generated by our activities is used to cover running costs, pay the rent of the building, and pay artists/teachers fees. Our finances rely completely on the participation fees of our workshops, art pieces made by Tictac and the financial support from donors.
What is special about Tictac
The heart of Tictac beats for Improvisation: Tictac is the place for both experts in performing improvisation to share their knowledge and for new emerging talents to learn and develop. Improvisation is an artform involving many disciplines, allowing for constant transformation and evolution. It allows playful adaptability, spontaneous yet skillfully guided creativity. Learning to improvise both individually and in groups unlocks the full potential of creative and transformative energies. In a world of increasing individualisation and division, practicing collective decision making and improvisation — both artistically and socially – hold immense value.
Performance: Tictac is more than just an educational space; it is also a platform for performance. Workshop participants, teachers, and anyone interested are invited to apply to present their ideas to the public.
Beyond Borders: Tictac brings people together from all over the world, creating opportunities for meeting and exchanging ideas. It connects dance lovers and artists globally and locally, growing both artistic and personal connections. As an international melting pot, Tictac merges diverse art forms, sharing information and knowledge across styles to inspire innovation and mutual growth. Tictac welcomes individuals from various professions, not just those with a dance or artistic background, to participate in and benefit from the workshops.
Multidisciplinary: At Tictac Art Centre, a wide range of art forms intersect and create new connections: Dance and performance arts, visual arts and fashion, film and photography, theatre and creative writing, live music and electronic sound design, as well as sculpture and painting and many more. The Tictac Gallery hosts visual artist residencies, offering artists a space to create and present their work. Tictac invites in the small studio performing artists for short residencies to develop and show their ideas.
Our primary motive is to create an environment to learn from each other, meet, collaborate, create and innovate artistic paths – sharing the process either on stage or in the gallery.
We believe in the power of collective participative processes and experiential learning, to create art together but also to sustain a place like Tictac – a big social sculpture that needs to be regenerated and revitalized everyday by many interconnected individuals.
How can you help?
Taking our workshops is the primary pillar of our budget. To keep Tictac existing without subsidies has been a huge challenge in the past six years. Even though inflation rises and prizes have increased everywhere, we try to keep workshops and performances affordable. With your support – either through a one time or repeating donations – you can help us to keep our place open and the arts accessible.
If you love the arts and if you believe in the value of creative processes to transform the world – in the small and the large scale, locally and globally, personally and collectively – your support to Tictac Art Centre will contribute to this adventure.
Thank you for considering supporting us and we hope to welcome you soon in Tictac.
