Through the Lens 2026

Dear Family and Friends,

As many of you know, the past several years have been, to say the least, a whirlwind. My mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and sadly passed away. Just 14 months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, today I am more than one year cancer-free, and I am incredibly grateful.

Throughout this journey, I've been blessed with an amazing "village" of family, friends, and organizations that supported and encouraged me every step of the way. One of the most important parts of that village has been Ann's Place.

Ann's Place is a truly special organization that provides free support services to cancer patients and their loved ones, including counseling, support groups, art and movement classes, nutrition programs, and so much more. At Ann’s Place, I have felt heard, supported and guided through these journeys. Every service they offer is made possible through the generosity of our community.

Because Ann's Place has meant so much to me, I was honored to be asked to be one of 24 models for their Through the Lens project. This unique event celebrates individuals whose stories reflect the experiences of so many people whose lives have been touched by cancer.

A professional photographer will capture my portrait in a location meaningful to me, and all 24 photographs will be unveiled at a special reception on September 24, 2026. Following the event, the exhibit will travel to libraries and community venues throughout Connecticut, helping raise awareness of the many faces and stories behind cancer.

As part of this project, each model is also raising funds for Ann's Place in order to continue helping provide free programs and services for local individuals and families navigating cancer.

The greatest way you can support this effort is by making a donation. No gift is too small—every contribution makes a difference. (Of course, if you'd like to think big, I certainly won't stop you!) My fundraising goal is $5,000, so if you choose to donate, please be sure to include my name so the gift is credited toward my campaign.
