Bishop Robert Barron, in a statement posted on his X account, took great care in urging caution with the use of synods going forward saying "when settled teaching becomes a subject for synodal determination, the Church devolves into relativism and self-doubt—as is clearly evident in the misconceived ‘Synodal Way’ in Germany…"
We were successful in getting this book to the bishops but I propose to you a new challenge. Why are we stopping with just the bishops? Let’s try to get it to as many priests in the US that we can. They are the front lines and need to hear from us.
For every $25 donated, this book will get into the hands of another priest. With a donation of $100 this will arrive to 4 more priests!
Now double the impact! Catholics for Catholics will match every single donation—meaning every priest you sponsor, we sponsor one more. One gift. Two priests. Exponential impact.
It’s urgent we act now as the cardinals are meeting in Rome to discuss the use of synods in the Church. Let’s stand with men like the great Cardinal Joseph Zen of Hong Kong who just sounded the alarm on the Synod on Synodality, denouncing its process as an “ironclad manipulation” and warning that its continual invocation of the Holy Spirit is “ridiculous” and verges on “blasphemy.”
In supporting this SPONSOR A PRIEST CAMPAIGN we are fulfilling what the Church herself asks us to do as lay people.
“Lay people have the right and even at times the duty to manifest to the sacred pastors their opinion on matters which pertain to the good of the Church and to make their opinion known to the rest of the Christian faithful, without prejudice to the integrity of faith and morals, with reverence toward their pastors, and attentive to common advantage and the dignity of persons.” Canon Law 212
Lastly, and most importantly, don’t forget to pray for them. Our bishops and priests are the ones ordained to bring us the most important gift, the Holy Eucharist, and they need our prayers!
Make a donation now and become a guardian of the deposit of faith!
PS: Your $25 donation helps us cover 1 book, shipping and handling. Please, consider sponsoring more than one priest. Thank you for your support!
