The Darrington Food Bank has been serving the area since 1983. During 2020 we assisted over 12,500 hungry people and expect that trend to continue. While we are grateful for the ability to rent the basement in the First Baptist Church at 1105 Emens Avenue, the space has limited the amount of food - especially perishables - that we can safely store and distribute. The Darrington Town Council has approved a long term lease on Town property which we greatly appreciate! Our next big step is to finance the construction of a building that will provide space to store, assemble and distribute food. We have applied for grants and will continue to do so however, most grants require outside funding that demonstrates that the surrounding community supports the effort.
