Donate to The Free Shop Lebanon
The Free Shop is a clothes store where everything is for free. Our team of 6 Syrian refugees support over 3,000 vulnerable families in the Bekaa Valley Lebanon. We support Syrians, Lebanese and Palestinians living in the midst of economic, health and political crises. Families can visit us every 6 months and choose donations of clothes, shoes, bedding, menstrual pads, hygiene items and kitchen utensils.
It costs us £2 per person who visits The Free Shop. Each individual can choose 3-4 items of aid. We recommend a donation of £24 to support two families of six to visit The Free Shop.
Our team member Dalaal uses her job to help local women, and spends her salary on supporting her two children.Free-shopping makes the distribution of aid a positive experience: we treat parents and children with respect.
Our dedicated Syrian team, UK board and international volunteers make our project able to support so many people.
Your donation will:
- buy clothes and shoes
- buy menstrual pads, hygiene items (like nappies and toothbrushes)
- buy food packs and heating fuel during winter distributions
- pay for individual support for families: this might be medical bills or school fees.
Your donation may:
- support the sending of containers to Lebanon. One large box of donations costs about 5 pounds to send.
Core operations of The Free Shop are funded by Choose Love's Refugee Leadership in Lebanon Grant. This funding pays for salaries, warehouse and shop rents, and the free transport we provide to all families who visit us.
We do all of this work for moments like these: when a mother can pick out clothes for her new baby.
