In May 2024, I was accepted by Christian Ministry Advancement (CMA) into The Board Internship program. Paired with Christian Venues Association (CVA), I aimed to grow in my knowledge and understanding of ministry governance - both theory (risk management, board mentoring, fundraising and networking) and practical (experience within CVA's boardroom).

Now in June 2025, I feel more equipped with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to make a valuable contribution in boardrooms of the future.

CVA do incredible work with over 160 Christian members across Australia including campsites, conference centres, retreats and activity providers for churches, charities and school groups. This aligns with my experience as an SU volunteer for over a decade - particularly with schoolies being at the same campsite on the Sunshine Coast. In 2024, CVA are celebrating their 50th year as an organisation.

The Board Internship is not a standalone organisation, but is a partnership between CMA and Korus Connect (The Council for Christian Education in Schools). Korus Connect has confirmed that the activities of The Board Internship meet the criteria of their deductible gift recipient status, and therefore donations to ‘The Board Internship’ will actually be donations to Korus Connect (The Council for Christian Education in Schools), and a tax-deductible receipt will be issued within five days.
