Having studied for a year with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries and seeing its collapse, and experiencing the governance failings of Hillsong Church after 7 years of attendance across multiple countries, I am convinced of the vital importance of healthy, Biblical governance.
In a world where Christianity is often seen as harmful for society due to the moral failings and abuses that people have suffered by the church, I firmly believe that Christian boards need better structures, more diverse views, and stronger character. The Board Internship (TBI) provides the tools for young people to be and bring that positive change in not-for-profits.
TBI places Christian leaders, between 22 and 35 years of age, in a year-long program that includes conferences, training webinars, placement for a year in the boardroom of a host organisation, board mentoring, networking and more. Interns not only gain knowledge about ministry governance, but experience it in the real world of a well-functioning Christian boardroom. They graduate from TBI with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to make a valuable contribution in the boardrooms of the future.

TBI is a joint project of Korus Connect (www.korusconnect.org.au) and CMA (www.cma.net.au) – charities who share a passion for helping Christian organisations become as effective as they can be.
How is TBI funded?
Interns are not charged a fee to participate. TBI meets their travel and conference costs, host organisations pay a fee to contribute towards these program costs, but this fee doesn't cover the hard costs of the program. Interns participate in this peer-to-peer fundraising campaign, each with an individual goal to raise at least $1000 towards the remaining costs of their internship.
