The FPV Drone Summer Camp 2026, hosted by The Project Initiative Foundation in partnership with Forge and Flight Academy LLC and The STEM Warriors Academy, is a fully sponsored, no-cost program designed to equip youth with critical digital, technical, and life skills.
This program is more than a summer camp—it is a targeted intervention initiative that combines hands-on STEM education with digital literacy training to help protect youth from online exploitation and trafficking.
Program Overview
- Duration: 5-day intensive program
- Cohorts: 2 groups of 10 students (20 total participants)
-
Age Groups:
- Cohort 1 (AM): Elementary and Middle School (ages 6–13)
- Cohort 2 (PM): High School (ages 13–17)
- Capstone Event: Day 5 combined cohort showcase and competition
Each student exits the program with three recognized credentials:
- FAA TRUST Recreational Drone Pilot Certificate
- Academy Certificate of Completion
- VelociDrone Simulator License
Integrated Digital Safety Training (RYAT Program)
A core component of the camp is instruction from the Raising Youth Against Trafficking (RYAT) program—The Project Initiative Foundation’s digital literacy initiative.
Students will receive age-appropriate training on:
- Online safety and digital awareness
- Recognizing manipulation, grooming, and exploitation tactics
- Safe communication practices in digital environments
- Protecting personal information and digital identity
This ensures students are not only learning how to use technology—but how to navigate it safely and responsibly.
What Students Learn
Participants receive hands-on instruction in:
- Drone safety and airspace awareness
- FPV (First Person View) flight fundamentals
- Simulator-based flight training
- Basic electronics and drone components
- Responsible digital behavior and online awareness
This combination of technical skill + digital literacy creates both empowerment and protection.
Measures of Performance (MOPs)
The program is designed with clear, trackable outputs:
- 20 students trained per session
- 100% of participants complete structured drone instruction
- 100% receive a simulator license
- 100% complete FAA TRUST certification training
- 100% participate in RYAT digital literacy instruction
- Daily hands-on engagement (2–3+ hours per student)
- Full participation in Day 5 capstone event
Measures of Effectiveness (MOEs)
The program focuses on meaningful, measurable impact:
- Increased confidence navigating digital environments
- Improved awareness of online risks and exploitation tactics
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate drones (simulator and/or live)
- Stronger critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Reduced vulnerability through education and awareness
- Exposure to positive STEM pathways and future opportunities
Why This Matters
Today’s youth are growing up in a digital world where exposure often comes before education.
This program addresses that gap by combining:
- Digital literacy (protection through RYAT)
- STEM education (skill-building and opportunity)
- Hands-on engagement (confidence and retention)
It is not just about flying drones—it is about helping students build awareness, resilience, and capability.
Your Impact
Because this camp is completely free for participants, every donation directly supports:

Closing
This is more than a camp.
It is a protective and empowering experience that equips students to:
- Think critically
- Build confidently
- Navigate digital spaces safely
- Pursue meaningful futures in STEM
Your support makes that possible.

Proud to support this program. Every kid who walks out of this camp knows how to fly a drone AND how to protect themselves online. That combination matters.
