The Space Movement Project (“TSMP”) is dedicated to nurturing the collective female lens in contemporary dance movement and inspiring experimental collaborative inquiry in creative dance process. For nearly 15 years, its collective mentality has provided company members with an artistic platform and laboratory for discovery and expression. TSMP’s work is influenced by abstract expressionism and emerges from the group mind rather than any single artist’s idea or vision. This makes space for ideas and connections to emerge that members may not have arrived at individually. Since 2005, TSMP has performed work locally and across the United States. 15th Anniversary Season

In 2020, TSMP will celebrate it's 15th anniversary of creating contemporary dance in Chicago. Though the company has shifted and changed over the last decade and a half, it continues to prioritize meaningful collaboration amongst company members and the broader dance community.
