Join us in our mission to preserve history and accelerate economic opportunity in Gee’s Bend by contributing to the restoration of a historic Roosevelt House. Built in the late 1930s as part of a Federal effort to provide relief to tenant farmers, these one-story wood-frame houses represent resilience and hope. The restored house will serve as a cultural hub, with exhibits telling the story of Gee’s Bend during the Great Depression.

Donation Tiers
$5000 Leader Supports the creation of interpretive exhibits and educational materials that share the story of Gee’s Bend during the Great Depression.
$2500 Sustainer Supports critical restoration efforts, including replacing deteriorated framing, roofing, siding, and flooring and installing modern utilities like plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
$1000 Guarantor Contributes to site preparation at the new location, such as soil evaluation, drainage improvements, and constructing the concrete footings for the new foundation.
$500 Builder
Assists with preliminary assessments, including locating, surveying, and measuring the structure and disconnecting utility connections to prepare for relocation.
