The Rare Biosphere in Titusville, FL
“The Rare Biosphere,” is a new play written by Chris Craigin day and recently performed in NYC, that tells the story of Sophie, a bright high school student who comes home to find her parents have been deported. She immediately goes into bunker-down survival mode, trying to care for her younger siblings without raising suspicion and considering her next move. Her plan is complicated by a well-meaning high school friend who, in a series of attempts to ask her out, discovers her secret.
Throughout this both serious and comedic show, we see two individuals from completely different backgrounds come together and choose to listen to and trust each other. We are bringing this all-too-common story to Titusville with a modified production on the evenings of September 6th and 7th at Crescent Coffee. We believe this production will foster compassionate and caring conversations as well as create a greater understanding and unity.
Featuring performances by Natalia Plaza and Matt Kinsey

"Absorbing, relevant, throught-provoking, honest, resonant"
"What is on offer is a powerful presentation of what is becoming an all-to-common tragedy - a hard-working immigrant family ripped apart by our country's draconian laws. And though it is done with passion, it is also clever, humorous and real."
