Hal, as he states it, is my brother from another mother. We met as SWAT/Tactical Medics at the second ever CONTOMS, because everything in the US back then had to be an a firm sounding acronym, Counter Narcotics Tactical Operational medical Support. A US Dept. of Defense and US Park Police joint program hosted at USUHS, the Uniformed Services University for the Health Sciences, at Bethesda Naval Hospital in Washington DC. This was back in December of 1990. When it was still desert Shield & hadn't progressed to Desert Storm.
Hal & I became good friends. i wrote columns for his EMS e-zine Big Medicine. Down through the years we have worked together on several projects and our families have visited together on a number of occasions.
I have been an EMT since August of 1973 and a still practicing paramedic since June of 1979. So when my brother medic mentioned your project, how could I not contribute.
Best wishes to all of our brother & sister medics North & South of the border. Good on ya' and please both know you are appreciated & continue to "Pay it Forward".
