Why is this important to me?

While attempting to start or advance my career, I have heard the word NO more than a thousand times, I have heard it plainly and I've heard it in an array of colours. 

It has been a dream of mine to become a person that could say YES to people who ‘look like me’. I know what I went through, I know what being denied the second you walk in the room looks like, I know how it feels to be laughed at and completely belittled. Not everything needs to be achieved the incredibly hard way, with blood, sweat, and tears. Yes, it makes us stronger and it made me stronger, but it hurt and it's still hurting. I want to be part of helping, not hurting.
