Goal
This fundraising campaign will support two joint scholarships at The New Centre for Research & Practice (each priced at USD 5,000) for two legal U.S. residents, one Israeli and one Palestinian, for two collaborative transdisciplinary projects broadly relating to the history and consequences of the ongoing Gaza-Israel conflict.
Building on our successful fundraising campaigns that supported Ukrainian and Iranian students in 2022 and 2023, we are introducing a project-based initiative in response to the Gaza-Israel conflict and in support of an immediate ceasefire.
We are granting two joint scholarships to two applicants with Palestinian and Israeli backgrounds*. They will collaborate on two research projects involving our existing academic programs. The selected applicants will be encouraged to work together, assessing the current political and humanitarian issues in Gaza and, most importantly, speculating about and proposing technologies of just and peaceful coexistence; they will imagine how and what to rebuild in Gaza for its rehabilitation after the end of the hostilities.
Your support will also transform these scholarships into a recurring opportunity at The New Centre for applicants who have been displaced by war or economic and environmental crises. The initiative's long-term goal is to encourage these students to collaborate on a joint project and to use our platform to promote its outcome.
As a non-profit educational platform, The New Centre for Research & Practice has always been autonomous and unaffiliated with particular governments or institutions. Since the beginning of the tensions in Gaza, our solidarity has been with the people whose lives are caught in these conflicts. In these challenging circumstances, our mission to provide opportunities for producing relevant knowledge within and outside traditional academia becomes even more vital.
The New Centre has operated with the support of our Students, Friends, Members, and those of you who have used donations to help our mission of building a Parallel Academia. Please help us in our effort by donating and sharing this fundraising with your friends and family and on your social media platforms!
