Some big news for Alex and friends!
The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) Rare Disease Translational Center in the US has officially greenlit the SMARCA2 mouse model project, an important milestone in research into Nicolaides-Baraister Syndrome (NCBRS).
The NCBRS Worldwide Foundation is hoping to raise $35,000 USD towards this critical work which will be matched by the Jackson Labs. This covers phenotype analysis, behavioural testing, and cellular characterisation of the model. Having a reliable model is a critical step towards learning more about Alex's super-rare syndrome and developing potential future treatments.
