The Margaret "Flowing" Johnson Memorial Fund for We Want The Land Coalition
A beloved thread in the fabric of our community ~Flowing~ has joined the ancestors.
She is so very loved and will be missed by countless individuals who had the good fortune to cross paths with her. Flowing was a constant source of inspiration and knowledge which she generously and readily shared with others.
Flowing was an active member of the worker community at the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival for 40 years. For many years, she was the Land Crew Coordinator, responsible for maintaining the ecology and beauty of The Land where the festival was held. Later, she was the coordinator of the festival Community Center. Every year, she would host a "Land Walk" workshop which was a time-honored, much beloved tradition for festival-goers.
After the Michigan Womyn's Music Festival ended and a nonprofit organization was formed to purchase The Land and steward it for the benefit of women and girls forever, Flowing was a staunch supporter of the organization - especially the ecological conservation aspects of the group's mission. We are so glad that Flowing made it back home to The Land in the summer of 2025, to walk the woodchipped paths again.
At the request of Flowing's family and friends, we are delighted to raise up this fundraising campaign in celebration of Flowing's amazing life and the impact she had on all of us. We are so very grateful. Flowing's legacy blesses us all.
