La Cocina Social - Social Kitchen

49.7% of elders in our neighborhood live under the poverty line, and this is why La Cocina Social exists. Whenever you visit our campus, you will experience the smell, the love, and the generosity of our Social Kitchen. And from this wonderful space, we have served more than 60,000 meals since 2021. Meals we cook are certified by a nutritionist, while taking into consideration local produce and the participants we serve. As of spring 2024, 247 meals are cooked and delivered three days a week to families our social workers identified. Our deliveries are healthy, consistent, and a necessary service for the elderly and adults with disabilities. Our current goal is to deliver meals to 300 families every day by the end of 2024.
