The Futsal Foundation

The Futsal Foundation's mission is to provide a free opportunity to children in underserved communities to develop positive habits and form a foundation for lifelong success through futsal

Why futsal? For decades the soccer system in this country has been fatally flawed, from our perspective, in two key areas:

Pay-to-Play: Our ‘pay-to-play’ system operates to create opportunities in soccer only for those who can afford it, cutting out huge sections of our population, usually comprised of those most in need
Player Development: Even for those who can afford to play, our player development system has always stressed physicality, athleticism and fitness over technique, speed of thought and creativity

Our proposed solution? Free futsal training for children in underserved communities via an after-school program. By providing training for free, we can combat the pay-to-play system and give opportunities to children that need it most. Through futsal, we can teach children the proper way to play by stressing good touch and quick thinking. Not only that, but through this program, we can help these children form a foundation for long-lasting success in life.

The Futsal Foundation, Inc. is a New York not-for-profit corporation (EIN 82-5079081), a public charity under Internal Revenue Code Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) and is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3), effective as of April 2, 2018.
