Goal

Decaturish had a huge year in 2024, and we got some help from our readers. They gave us a great start by contributing $26,000 to our fall fundraiser in 2023, exceeding our $25,000 goal.

In 2024, we're setting the bar a little higher and asking readers to help sustain Decaturish by helping us raise $30,000 to fund our operations.

Decaturish is now a part of Appen Media Group and reader support remains vital to our mission of remaining an independent local news publication. Your contributions help us pay reporters and freelancers to cover the stories you care about. Without your help, we would be unable to cover important topics like education, the arts and development news. Without you, we can't bring you essential news like what's happening with DeKalb County Watershed or who won the recent local elections. Your support helps us tell the untold stories of your community.

Local news can't exist without local support. Support your local news by making a contribution today!

I'm very disappointed that Dekalb County certified the eletion. According to #s given to one of your reporters a day after the election, there were close to 8000 issued Absentee Ballots not returned nor accounted for. None of us at my senior residential facility ever received our Absentee Ballots! DEKALB COUNTY OR THE SECRETARY OF STATE NEEDS TO EXPLAIN WHY!

Dan, it is clear that the decline of local newspapers throughout our country has contributed to the recent election outcome – an un-informed electorate. Thank you for your vision and commitment to our community. There needs to be more Dans throughout the US.
