The Botanical Bus: Bilingual Mobile Herb Clinic
This fall The Botanical Bus: Bilingual Mobile Herb Clinic (501c3) is coming together with leaders from Lideres Campesinas, La Plaza: Nuestra Cultura Cura and Nuestra Comunidad in the organization of a free farmworker clinic.
In Sonoma County, Latinx residents make up 1/3 of the population and almost 80% of COVID-19 infections. Our most vulnerable essential farmworkers, domestic workers and day laborers face overcrowded living conditions, unsafe work environments and limited access to financial relief and medical care. In the face of this disproportionate, deepening health crisis, our mobile clinic will empower 1,500-Latinx immigrant farmworkers, domestic workers and day laborers during the grape harvest in Sonoma County through:
- Distribution of care kits and COVID-19 personal protective equipment
- Emergency preparedness and Know Your Rights trainings
- Culturally relevant holistic health care
We would like to invite you to take ACTION today:
- Our community can support our work with fiscal and in-kind* donations
- Sonoma County vintners can partner with us to host a clinic at your vineyard
- Holistic health practitioners and translators can sign up for a shift to volunteer your services
- Farmworkers, domestic workers and day laborers you are always essential and we are here for you
*If you would like to make an in-kind donation of herbs, supply or even a utility van, please see out current CLINIC WISH LIST https://thebotanicalbus.org/clinic-wish-list/
Thank you for rising up as a leader and taking action to get our bilingual mobile herb clinic on the road!
