Hope Mountain Vision
Hope Mountain ARC is a long-term restoration program that is Christ-centered, biblically based, mentor supported, and strategically aligned to transform the lives of those harmed by drug and alcohol addiction, their families, and our community.
We will walk with those suffering from addiction using programs designed to heal the body, mind, and spirit so that lasting, transformational healing can occur.
We will rebuild lives through outcome-based objectives focused on sustained abstinence and maintenance of long-term, restorative faith disciplines, safe housing, a secure job, a strong family and a mentor/peer support network.
We will restore those struggling with addiction to healthy and transformed relationships with God, self, and others, providing an anchor of lasting hope and change.
We will reach into our communities and churches with programs developed to educate families and those struggling with addiction with the truth about the need for Christ-based restoration.
Hope Mountain ARC is a 501 (c) (3) qualified organization, that began with a group that felt and witnessed a specific call from God! Through this calling, we became inspired to respond to the growing substance abuse crisis affecting Spartanburg, Union and surrounding counties in SC and the US.
We believe the model for the transformation we are developing will revolutionize long-term addiction recovery and transformation programs. This process for transformation is one that is Christ-centered, biblically-based, and strategically aligned to transform the lives of those struggling to overcome drug and alcohol addiction, their families, and our community.
Founded in 2019 due to the growing crisis of substance abuse in our communities, the goal is to restore those struggling with addiction to a meaningful life where they flourish as contributing members of a family, church, workplace, and community.
The current approach of many other facilities lacks continuity of care and confuses treatment with transformation. For many, the current processes are not comprehensive enough and focus on behaviour, not transformed thinking.
The Hope Mountain ARC Men’s Transformation Ministry will feature a faith-based long-term transformation model for men with “X” bed capacity. Before entering the program, each applicant will have undergone a comprehensive medical evaluation, including a drug and alcohol screen. The ministry team will design an individualized development plan for successful completion of the program. Once admitted to the program, the resident will participate in Bible studies, individual and group counselling, mentoring discussion groups, and an educational component that will include information about addiction and how it affects their lives mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally.
We have identified specific outcomes for the men in the program:
• A healthy relationship with God, self and others
- Sustained abstinence and maintenance of long-term lifestyle change.
• Education in important basic life skills
• Safe housing
• A secure job
• A restored family and a peer support network
The Hope Mountain Approach
Three significant components differentiate Hope Mountain from other programs: a twelve-month residence interval, an intensive and sustained program of spiritual
disciplines /encounters and a workforce training program.
Research has shown that many who have struggled with acute addiction require at least three to six months to establish new learning processes and thinking skills. Furthermore, depending on the severity and length of their addiction, many require more than just a program. They require a mentoring relationship and an encounter with the transforming power of faith in Jesus Christ.
Our goal is to develop a Christ-centered, 12 Month restoration program that assists those recovering from addiction to a meaningful and productive life in which they will flourish as contributing members of a family, church, workplace, and community.
Substance abuse is a problem that destroys families and weakens our communities. South Carolina and the nation continue to experience record numbers of overdose deaths due to opioid use.
Sustained abstinence and recovery is difficult. Our program has a clear vision and long-term strategy geared toward achieving lifelong sobriety and lasting transformation. Full recovery must be holistic and address the mental, physical, emotional and spiritual needs that often hinder true healing. We believe a Spirit-filled life and a daily pattern of transformed thinking based on the truth of God’s Word drives new behavior.
Our Launch Plan Progress
We have been blessed to assemble a gifted and committed team of advisors who are assisting in guiding our path forward. We have secured a site in Union County for Phase 1 of our ministry plan, which will culminate in a 12-month transformation and restoration program for men.
Our next steps are to:
Our current goal is to raise $500,000 dollars for the land, facilities development, and construction phase of our plan. These funds will also support our first-year operating costs for the facility, to be located on a campus being developed in Union County, South Carolina.
Continue raising funds towards our capital campaign so we can continue work on facilities repair, upgrade, design and engineering
Continue the discernment and development process for outcomes and counselling plans as we work towards operational status.
Continue developing collaborative partnerships with churches, organizations, communities, and local businesses to support the restoration efforts of the men in the program
Develop and provide our communities and churches with programs developed to educate families and those struggling with addiction with the truth about the need for Christ-based restoration.
