First Tee Oakland Chapter Launch


First Tee Oakland is a youth development organization that enables kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. Our unique life skills education program, centered around the game of golf, brings active learning experiences and mentorship that build inner strength, self-confidence, and resilience that kids can carry to everything they do. Guided by the belief that all youth deserve the chance to grow in a safe environment benefiting from the guidance of supportive mentors, we are dedicated to building programs that are accessible, welcoming, and as impactful as they are fun.

I met James Whittaker while playing golf yesterday and he told me about the program. I grew up in Oakland and love the idea of First Tee bringing lifeskills through the game to the Oakland's youth. I myself introduced golf to my kids many years ago and they still enjoy the game today as adults. I'm glad they had the opportunity to learn and hope other kids can get the same. James seems like a great board member and I'd like to show him and the organization some support with this donation.
