Goal

When challenged to commit to something for 10 days, I considered a lot of things - steps, acts of kindness, crafting. In the end, I decided to use it as a springboard to create the simple, unique-system table top roleplaying games that I love to write.

Over the last year, I've struggled with confidence in the TTRPG space - my life and mental health making it tough to unleash the creativity that once came easily to me. So in choosing this particular commitment, I knew it would challenge me - but I also hope it'll bring back a part of myself that I feel I've misplaced.

So, uh, what's a TTRPG?

TTRPG is an acronym for Table Top RolePlaying Game. Lots of people know of a really popular one called Dungeons and Dragons. It's a game where you use paper and pencils, a few rules, and some dice to make a narrative game with your friends.

D&D is great! But not every TTRPG is like D&D - lots of them have no dungeons and no dragons! And while I have nothing against either dungeons OR dragons, my passion are rules-light games that embrace creativity and character development over adhering to 200-page rulesbooks, and ones that can be played in a few hours rather than a few years. Some don't have dice. Some you can play alone. A lot of them are set in the modern world. Most of them will make you laugh, but some could make you cry. All of them will make you dream.

And core to all of this is my fundamental belief that we're never too old to play games.

Why should I support This Ends Now?

By taking on Ten for TEN, you are helping us create a world free from gender-based oppression. Our mission is simple - to prevent gender-based inequality by reframing the conversation around feminism and dismantling patriarchy.

Where will my donations go?

Brilliant question! Your donations can help ensure that we can continue our work. This could fund our training and resources, support the expansion of our Words Matter program, and cover essential operational tools that enable us to continue to drive and create meaningful change.

Why do Words Matter?

This Ends Now was founded on the belief that changing language will change how society understands gender-based oppression. Generational patriarchy has woven misogyny into the victim blaming and perpetrator-erasing language that is predominantly used to describe MVAWG.

Evidence has shown that wording around these incidents is powerful enough to discourage victims/survivors from coming forward and perpetuate the narrative that women and victims are at fault. By supporting This Ends Now, you can help us take our reporting guidelines to other constabularies across England and Wales, creating real seismic change.
