Goal

Malawian soccer sensation Temwa Chawinga joins Freshwater Project International as its Brand Ambassador, leading efforts to improve clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) in Malawi.

As the first Malawian woman to compete in the National Women’s Soccer League, Temwa’s rise from humble beginnings to the global stage symbolizes resilience and hope.

Playing forward for the KC Current, Chawinga is presently dominating the Golden Boot race with 17 goals, shattering records as the only player to score in 8 consecutive NWSL matches. This year, she has netted 17 goals in just 22 games, showcasing her unstoppable form.

Now, she’s championing a vital cause close to her heart—advocating for WASH in SCHOOLS in rural Malawi.

Through this partnership, Temwa and Freshwater aim to raise awareness and funds and inspire action to enhance school water and sanitation infrastructure and access, while empowering and inspiring youth across her homeland.
