Bardo Running Club was founded in 2023 to honour Bernardo, who passed away from osteosarcoma at age 16. At an age when everything felt possible, we gathered and laced up for a cause close to us. What began as a simple tribute, and a small relay team of 15 runners, has grown into a youth-driven force for change. Today, Bardo Running Club brings together around 100 young people through racing and training. We move together to raise awareness and funds for childhood cancer. Through successful campaigns and steady growth, we are proving that impact does not require a suit and tie. We run to remember and to move things forward. We run to show that running in circles can, in fact, lead somewhere.
In our first campaign, we ran Holmenkollstafetten and raised over NOK 200,000 to help build the new youth room at Radiumhospitalet, a shared space for young cancer patients undergoing treatment.
Since then, we have supported a groundbreaking osteosarcoma research project at Oslo University Hospital, bringing the total to over NOK 500,000 in three years. From relays and coffee runs to sub three hour marathons and ultras, we keep finding new ways to connect, create, and make a difference.
Bardo Running Club is our answer to an urgent fight. A way to carry memory forward while building momentum for change. Not someday, but now.
Thank you for contributing to our journey towards lasting change!
