Goal
Taylor Strong is coming out of running retirement. On April 10, 2027, she’ll take on the Ancient Lakes 50 Mile in Quincy, Washington: about 51 miles of desert single track, lakeshores, and canyon terrain along the Columbia River Gorge. It’s her first ultramarathon since 2018, and she’s running it to raise $1,000 for clean water.
Taylor has done this before. In 2017 she ran across America on a 25-person relay team, covering 4,000 miles in 49 days for charity. This time, her miles are for MissionCleanWater.
In rural Uganda, the walk for water can take hours, and it usually falls to women and girls. Too often, a new water system breaks down within a few years and families go back to unsafe sources.
MissionCleanWater works alongside the families who use each system and checks every system every month, so the water keeps flowing. In our 2026 survey of 745 women served by our systems, daily water collection time fell from about four hours to 30 minutes.
Support Taylor’s run and help keep clean water flowing.
