Support Tawich in the City and Help establish the National Marine Conservation Area
You play a vital role in helping us protect one of the world's most precious ecosystems—the Hudson Bay Lowlands and our push for the National Marine Conservation Area that will protect over 35,000 square miles (about the size of Indiana) in Northern Ontario, and a coastline longer than Hawaii's. Your donation will support conservation efforts, amplifying the voices and cultural heritage of the Omushkego people, and ensuring the future of this globally significant area.
What is Tawich in the City?
Tawich in the City is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together Indigenous music, art, and science to shine a light on the beauty and importance of the Hudson Bay and James Bay coastal regions. Indigenous leaders like Deputy Grand Chief Natasha Martin, Juno Award winner Lawrence Martin, and scientists, artists, and musicians like Adrian Sutherland and Tanya Talaga will share their knowledge, art, and stories.
You'll hear about the incredible wildlife, including year-round polar bears, and witness stunning footage captured by award-winning filmmakers, the Water Brothers. Together, these voices call for protection of these lands and waters and the urgent need to safeguard them from industrial threats like the Ring of Fire mining development.
Why Donate?
Your contribution today, no matter the amount, will directly support both this event and the ongoing Tawich Project, a critical initiative working to protect this extraordinary ecosystem.
Even if you can't join us in person or via live stream, your generosity will help protect Tawich, Canada's great inland sea, and empower the conservation movement at this critical moment.
Thank you, in advance, for your support!
