Please Donate to end the sufferings of homeless animals
Tahira Animal Welfare Foundation is a UK based charity working for the welfare of stray animals living in miserable conditions within Pakistan. TAWF built a state of the art animal shelter and hospital equipped with advanced X-rays, Ultrasound and other medical equipment. There is no other animal shelter within 100 miles.
Stray animals are in very miserable conditions in Pakistan. The leading cause of their misery is the overpopulation of homeless animals. TAWF is working to overcome the root cause. Our main aim is to control the population of stray animals and eliminate rabies in the area.
The main aim is to control the population of stray animals and eliminate rabies from the city. Rabies is endemic in Pakistan, with human infections mainly due to dog bites, and cases are mostly
diagnosed on clinical grounds only. Local authorities estimated that 2,000 to 5,000 people die of rabies every year in Pakistan. According to the regional government surveys, about 16,000 dogs in urban areas of Faisalabad need to be sterilized and vaccinated to control stray dogs population and rabies. Our project will eliminate rabies and make the 3rd largest city of Pakistan rabies-free. This project will eliminate rabies and make the 3rd largest city of Pakistan rabies-free. Our projects will benefit about 3.204 million people.
At TAWF, we’ve been working to rescue stray animals, birds and wild animals. Our main project is to sterilize and vaccinate stray dogs.
We have countless heartfelt stories about the rescues we’ve made over the year that is currently in our shelter. Unfortunately, we don’t have a system in Pakistan where there is state ownership and widespread public support of animal rights and welfare, and not many people adopt stray animals. This has made our work very difficult despite our passion for it.
However, we will never give up on those suffering and voiceless creatures that need our attention.
TNVR is our primary and most significant project. Since November 2020, we have been aggressively running our TNVR project as reports are published on our official Facebook page. (https://facebook.com/tawf.org.uk)
At TAWF, since its creation, I(chairperson) and my family have been financially supporting 90% of expenses for all the rescues, TNVR projects, animal feeding costs, medication and wellbeing. Since November 2020, I have spent all my savings and income, but now it is challenging for me to support this cause from my pocket further. I did whatever I could. We are at a high growth period, and any further delays could be critical. Now, it's the time of action. Please support us.
