As we look forward to the fall, I am reminded that one of my favorite events of the season is upon us: Taste of New Futures! This year's theme "Five Years of Culture and Awareness" celebrates a milestone anniversary of this event that so many of you have supported over the years.

New Futures, a scholarship organization that is near and dear to me and whose Board I have served on for several years, is preparing for its signature fall fundraising event. This year's Taste event will take place on Friday, October 2, from 6:30–9:30 PM at Skyline 609!

In a year that has been fraught with change in both the higher ed sector and for many of our scholars it is more more important than ever that we celebrate what makes our NF community great-- its breath of cultural perspectives. Experience an international celebration featuring immersive cultural exhibits, authentic cuisine, and live performances — all to support scholarships and career advising for young people in the DC region.

Whether you are able to join in person or can only celebrate with us in spirit, know that every bit counts! Help me in achieving my personal $3,000 fundraising goal and the event's $40,000 goal by buying tickets or donating. Your support helps fund multiple first-time scholarships and advancing equity in education and employment. Let’s make opportunity possible—together.

About New Futures
New Futures is among the only college success organizations leveraging shorter-term post-secondary credentials (usually community college degrees) to launch rewarding careers in our region's high-growth sectors. We partner with our Scholars and Alumni to support them through their academic programs, provide flexible scholarship funding, and connect them to skills, professional development opportunities, and new networks so they can complete their credentials and spring into their careers from a place of confidence and strength.

Thank you for supporting the Taste of New Futures. If you are a Dream ($5,000) level sponsor, the Fair Market Value (FMV) of the goods and services attendees will receive during the evening (food, beverages, and swag) is $65 per person. For all others, the FMV of the goods and services attendees will receive during the evening (food and beverages) is $45 per person. For federal income tax purposes, your contribution is tax deductible minus the FMV amounts as indicated above. If you do not attend and no goods or services are received your contribution is fully tax-deductible as per IRS guidelines.
