We are Tandika Revitalization Foundation, a movement committed to transforming communities through the economic empowerment of women.

In the heart of Mbiko, Uganda and its surrounding communities, we're providing the tools and support for women to start and sustain small businesses. Our conviction lies in the fact that women—the nurturers of society—can uplift entire communities, paving the way for sustainable development and breaking the cycle of poverty.

The Tandika Community Center

Our community center will serve as a focal point for our operations. It will not simply be a meeting place; but also a hub for learning, progress monitoring, decision-making, and planning. We will host skill-development sessions and income-generating projects like farming, milk production, and plastic collection, among others.

Our Journey Here

Phase 1:
Start Tandika Women's Business Collaborative and Loan Program
Status: Began in 2021

Phase 2:
Buy 3 acres of land to build the Tandika Community Center.
Status: Purchased in 2023

Phase 3:
Build the Tandika Community Center!

The Future

Sustainability
Once the community center is complete, Tandika will be working on creating sustainability projects to help cover monthly expenses such as utilities, maintenance, and worker salaries.

We’ll start with three projects: Farming, milk production, and plastic collection for recycling. All three of these projects will be housed on the land and will generate income to cover local expenses.

Future Expansion
Our vision expands beyond current operations. We hope to further serve the community by establishing a small clinic to provide essential medical care.

Donations contribute to a self-sustainable, prosperous future for the women of Mbiko and the surrounding communities.

Governance

All properties, including land and buildings used by the foundation, are solely owned by the Tandika Revitalization Foundation and governed by the Ugandan Board of Directors. This is to ensure the primary focus remains on the community development rather than individual gains.

Our operations are sustained through contributions from cooperative members and generous donations from well-wishers across the globe. Tandika Revitalization Fund is a 501(c)(3) in the United States whose sole purpose is fundraising for Tandika in Uganda. These funds will be used for building projects, supplies for training, and seed money for sustainability projects.
