Thomas Tallis Parent Teacher and Friends Association is a registered Charity set up to support the children of Thomas Tallis School and their families/carers. We run events to engage the wider community of parents, carers and friends and as a Charity, we are able to access funds for experiences and equipment that School would not otherwise be able to apply for. As a Charity, we can also add an extra 25% Gift Aid from HMRC to all donations made by UK Tax Payers, turning your £10 donation into a £12.50 donation at no extra cost to you.
What is the Cost-of-a-Coffee Campaign?
Our Cost-of-a Coffee Supporters pledge the cost of a £2.50 take-away coffee every month to support a Tallis student. It is open to anyone so please share with family, friends or anyone else you think may be interested in supporting a young person at Tallis. Our aim is for every student at Tallis to be supported by a Cost-of-a-Coffee supporter raising a grand total of £60,000/year.
Monthly Giving, whether £1 or £100 is the life-blood of every Charity, enabling confident budgeting, planning and approval of School's funding requests. If you are able to do so, please consider joining our monthly Cost-of-a-Coffee Supporters.
Where does your money go?
These are some of the projects that donations and volunteers time have recently enabled:
- Expert lead Workshops - to support the KS3 Entitlement Programme where every child in yr 7, 8 and 9 experiences at least 1 high quality performance per year.
- Maths Week Speaker - enabling Ms Randhawa to invite world leading Mathematicians to speak in school.
- GCSE Dance T-shirts - this year every GCSE dance student will receive a free dance uniform t-shirt to create a true dance company feel and so that they don't have to re-wear their sweaty PE kit on days when they have both subjects.
- Community Garden - funding the greenhouse and providing volunteers to help Mr Baker transform the outside space and provide hands-on gardening experience for students.
- 6th Form Fundraising - mentoring the 6th Form to run the very successful Parents Evening Coffee Shops and fundraise for their Prom
- Music, Drama & Art Front of House - providing volunteers and a fully stocked bar and tuck shop to reduce the pressure on teachers running performances.
- Festival Decorations - enabling all children to engage with festivals throughout the year by funding walkway decorations
If you can, please donate to help us support School in providing an exceptional student experience so that they may understand the world and change it for the better.
