Goal

A collaboration of Shenandoah Valley community organizations took on a project to support and amplify the mission of The Shenandoah Valley Black Heritage Project by joining forces in an energy efficiency and solarization project on SVBHP’s building at 425 Hill Street in Harrisonburg.

Our initial goal of $11,500 was met, but our projected budget was off by $5,000.  We are seeking additional community crowdfunding support from individuals, businesses, faith communities and civic organizations to raise the additional funds that are needed to complete this project.  If we exceed our goal of raising $5,000, excess funds will be used for future improvements to infrastructure (based upon an energy efficiency audit) and programmatic needs.

Solar with energy efficiency is a great idea, and hopefully will help assure that SVBHP continues its excellent programs for a long time to come!

I appreciate Jeff’s time to discuss this project this evening (Sunday night). Every solar project is a victory for all of us.
