Children in the Philippines who live in extreme poverty lack access to quality healthcare. They are often denied assistance and are unable to afford necessities to improve their quality of life.
Alessandro is a two-year-old boy from the Philippines. He lives with his mother, older siblings and grandfather. The company his mother worked for went bankrupt due to the pandemic and she lost her job.
Alessandro was born with an inguinal hernia (an inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, such as part of the intestine, protrudes through a weak spot in the abdominal muscles. The resulting bulge can be painful, especially when you cough, bend over or lift a heavy object). Doctors have told his mother that he needs surgery as soon as possible.
She currently has no way to pay for his surgery and reach out to us asking for help for her son.
Can you help us fund Alessandro's surgery and make him more comfortable?
