Changing Venezuela one meal, one patient, one story at a time
Venezuela180° was founded by the efforts of a Venezuelan in New Brunswick, Canada, his friends and journalist in Caracas, Venezuela.
The non-profit was launched on October 2017 and it is dedicated to creating partnerships to deliver food and hygiene products across Venezuela while highlighting positive journalist stories happening in the country and sponsoring low-income Venezuelans who require expensive medical treatments.
Venezuela180° focuses on sending food and hygiene products to non-profits in Venezuela for them to be distributed across Venezuela. Thanks to the support of our donors, partner organizations and volunteers, we have been able to send basic staple food and hygiene products to public schools, orphanages and low-income families to fight hunger and malnutrition.
We delivered food to 5 organizations in Venezuela in 4 different cities: Maturin, Caracas, Valencia and Barquisimeto. The food is collected in Houston, TX and is transported to Venezuela where they are distributed.
In 2019, after our partnership with Feeding Smiles, we began sponsoring low-income people with medical and food expenses. These medical expenses include cancer treatment and surgeries.
