Support Community Journalism

In this season of giving thanks, we want to show our gratitude to all of you who subscribe to The Minute and our print and online edition. Thank you for being part of our community.

We have launched a “sustainer” campaign to call for direct community support for the public service role of local journalism. We ask you to consider making a donation to sustain our work to provide trusted, local news that helps us all establish a shared set of facts so we can make good decisions together as a community. That’s what local news does, it pulls us together. And in these polarized times, it’s never been more important.

Journalism like this takes resources, and we can’t do it without the support of readers like you.

As part of this campaign, from now until the end of the year we are removing our paywall to show our appreciation to you for being part of our community.

We also welcome donations by check. Please write "sustainer" on the memo line, and mail your check to:

MV Times, P.O. Box 518, Vineyard Haven 02568.

Please note that The Martha’s Vineyard Times is not a non-profit business and that your financial support is not tax-deductible. However, your support is critical to us doing our work and very much appreciated.

Please continue to try to keep local government honest. Also suggestion that drawbridge is a rip off on taxpayers. It was built for commerce there is no commerce I assume that only 30 to 50 people use it for their boats for pleasure. Creating massive traffic back up. Also blocking ambulances. Thanks my God.

I've lived in San Francisco for 47 years & can no longer fly cross country, but the Island will always hold a special place in my heart from living there in 1975 (year round) & visiting for 9 months before & many years after I lived there. My former housemate is still one of my best friends.
