"Connecting Communities to Their Watershed"
We started off this year with Dr. Stephen Beckham's fascinating presentation of the history of splash-damming in the Luckiamute watershed, and then celebrated Earth Day with a volunteer mulching event at Luckiamute State Natural Area. During the spring and summer, we launched a self-guided tour of Luckiamute State Natural Area’s north loop trail; a tour of the Native Plant Nursery at the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Natural Resources Department; a butterfly and moth identification event at J2E Tree Farm; and will sson be opening up registration for an ethnobotany walk near Soap Creek, guided by members of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. Later this fall, look for the return of both in-person and Zoom-based Sips 'n' Science pub talks!
Your support of these programs helps us connect our communities to the watershed!
