Support the Kids in Need Waikato Charitable Trust

We need funds to help support the operations of the Trust, plus purchase of items individualised for each child.


Kids in Need Waikato was founded in 2017. A Charitable Trust was established early in 2018.


Kids in Need Waikato supplies care packs for children in foster care, grandchildren being raised by grandparents or any child being cared for by someone other than their biological parent. These kids are often uplifted and placed into care with only the clothes they are wearing. Scared lonely and often feeling abandoned and unwanted caregivers take these kids because they want to help, because they have big hearts. Having a child turn up with a rubbish bag that holds their only belongings, or with nothing at all, is devastating.


Kids in Need Waikato believes it is important to help these kids feel as normal, worthy and valued in having what other kids take for granted.  Second hand clothing, toys and books of excellent quality is very much appreciated however, every child receives brand new underwear, socks and pyjamas. This is where we are very grateful for your support.

Kids in Need Waikato is a registered charity and has approved donee status from Inland Revenue this means individuals can claim tax credits for donations over $5 that they make to the charity.
