Support the Incoming Class of Girl Pioneers

In Guatemala, 65 percent of indigenous girls drop out of school by the end of primary school. During the pandemic, this number is predicted to grow. Yet, the MAIA selection team received 110 applications from young women who demonstrated immense levels of determination and perseverance in their pursuit of continuing their education, 55 of whom will be enrolling in the MAIA Impact School in January 2021. These students are passionate about their right to an education and have clear goals and dreams they are working towards. Their resilience and grit will serve them well as they will need to overcome many challenges as Girl Pioneers, starting with the fact that the pandemic terribly impacted their final year in primary school.
This giving season, support the next generation of 55 changemakers who are beating the odds and pursuing an education to become empowered leaders.
