In 2017, Galapagos Rockford Charter School built a brand new playground for the scholars of Galapagos Rockford Charter School as well as the children who live in the surrounding neighborhood. Galapagos received financial support from local foundations, businesses and individuals. With that support, Galapagos brought together a team of volunteers which included instructors, parents and community members. The result was a beautiful playground, that is enjoyed by children throughout the entire summer and whenever the weather allows.

Thanks to continuous donations, we were able to add two new pieces of equipment to the playground in 2021.

The playground has been a tremendous success for the community. We would like to continue to enhance the experience by adding more features. We need your help to bring additional play equipment as well as benches and landscaping to the playground. This playground is a jewel on the west side of Rockford and we want it to shine even brighter. Please consider donating towards our efforts. We will use every dollar raised to go directly into the playground.
